This program is designed for smokers who would benefit from a supportive, educational environment.
How does the program work?
See your doctor for:
• Approval to start the program
• Prescriptions for nicotine replacement therapy
PICK a stop date to quit smoking
CALL us to register for the next program
START your medication
COME to 1-1/2 hour classes, once a week
Topics Include:
• Adverse effects of smoking, why quit?
• The addiction process and its emotional impact
• Medications — why they work, how they will help
• Learning new skills/alternative behaviors, developing a support system
• Relapse prevention and stress management
At EACH session, we will:
• Monitor your blood pressure, pulse, weight, smoking status, and medication compliance
• Keep your doctor updated about your progress
AFTER YOUR SUCCESS we will contact you periodically to see how you are doing. Drop by sessions will be available.
