Volunteer Opportunities

A volunteer is a person who freely chooses to serve others in his or her community and believes that individual involvement makes a difference. At Dimensions Healthcare System, volunteers are welcomed as a significant part of the healthcare team, working with staff to provide quality healthcare services. Below is information on volunteering at Laurel Regional Hospital and Prince George’s Hospital Center, two of the facilities of Dimensions Healthcare System.

Volunteers at Dimensions Healthcare System provide a vital service in our hospital for patients, families and visitors. We are proud of our volunteers and the contributions they make to helping us provide quality care to our patients. We welcome individuals with a variety of skill sets and abilities to join our team as volunteers. In addition to learning, growing and meeting new friends, volunteers at Dimensions Healthcare System facilities help make a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families. The program offers volunteers the opportunity to assist and support the hospitals’ many departments and personnel.

The opportunities to make a difference are numerous. Volunteers can assist in many areas of the hospital including reception, greeting, transport, clerical, food and nutrition services, and central sterile processing, as well as other locations within the hospital. Join a caring team of volunteers and allow yourself the opportunity to share your special talents and skills where they will be appreciated by our staff and patients everyday!

All hospital volunteers are carefully screened, trained, given appropriate assignments and required to follow hospital policies and procedures. The screening process for all volunteers includes a criminal background check, health and immunization screening, an interview and orientation.
