Dimensions Surgery Center:
Hernia Repair

Hernias in the groin area (inguinal hernias) are extremely common and occur when a sac of peritoneum, the lining of the abdominal cavity, protrudes through a hole in the muscular wall of the lower abdomen. If not corrected, part of the intestine can become entrapped, leading to strangulation and requiring emergency surgery. The most effective treatment for hernias is surgery, which can be done at our ambulatory surgery center.
