The Foundation raises and receives funds to support Laurel Regional Hospital in its mission of providing comprehensive and valued healthcare services to communities in the Baltimore-Washington Corridor. The Foundation increases public awareness of the hospital's valuable contributions to the community. It solicits funds from regional organizations and individuals. About Laurel Regional Hospital FoundationThe Laurel Regional Hospital Foundation, re-established in 1991, is charged with the responsibility of raising capital funds to support hospital needs. It has been an important organization assisting the hospital meet capital equipment needs, upgrade the physical plant, and provide community outreach programs. The Foundation Board of Directors, comprised of voluntary community, business, and physicians leaders has worked tirelessly to gain the loyalty and support of the community. The Foundation raises funds in a variety of ways. Special Events.The Foundation's annual theme gala has become a signature event for the organization. Over the years, funds raised from the gala have helped purchase equipment as well as upgrade and/or expand services from maternal child health to physical rehabilitation. The Foundation's 2004 annual theme gala, Carnival in Rio, raised $40,000 to benefit cardiology services at the hospital. These funds will be put to use in the summer of 2005 when the hospital’s Cardiology Department is expanded and renovated. The 2005 gala, The Super Bowl of Galas, will be held on November 5, 2005 at the Hyatt Regency on Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Those attending will have the choice of purchasing a burgundy and gold table or a purple and black table. The silent auction will compliment the theme by offering sports memorabilia from famous sports stars for bid. Annual Giving Program. Response to Foundation solicitations provides support to upgrade equipment and renovate the hospital. Planned Giving Programs. Planned gifts support the Foundation and provide benefit to donors. There are many ways to make a planned gift from a gift of insurance to a charitable gift annuity. We encourage you to talk with your financial advisor or tax attorney to determine what type of gift is best for you and your family. Please consider the Foundation in your will and estate. Memorial and Commemorative Giving Program. A donation in memory or in honor of a loved one is a special way to remember them, or recognize a special occasion. Upon receipt of your gift, the family or recipient is notified of your generosity. Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow Donor Wall. The Foundation's donor recognition wall visually chronicles the hospital’s history and recognizes past, present, and future donors. Major gifts are permanently recognized on this striking display.
