The Physical Rehab CenterFor over twenty years, the Physical Rehab Center (PRC) at Laurel Regional Hospital has been regarded as an outstanding acute inpatient rehabilitation program. The Physical Rehab Center earned accreditation by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The PRC is also licensed by the state of Maryland. Populations We ServeThe Physical Rehab Center helps adults improve their ability to function after a new illness or significant change in life activities. We serve adults with a wide range of disorders or injuries such as:
We provide comprehensive rehabilitative services to our patients and customize treatment plans to help meet your individual needs. We offer 7 day per week therapy and 24 hour medical care. Referrals to the Physical Rehab CenterCall our Center at 301-497-7901 extension 2 and we will be happy to assist you with your referral. If you are a case manager and/or from a hospital facility you may fax referrals to 301-362-2050 or use e-discharge on-line. The Physical Rehab Center has specially trained admission coordinators who will work with you and the referring facility to determine if our program can meet your needs. Our staff will obtain medical and therapy information about your case to decide if our program is a good fit for you. We will verify your insurance coverage for our program and inform you of any financial responsibility you may have. We will make efforts to meet with you and tell you about our Center and the specialized services we provide. The Team ApproachThe Physical Rehab Center has a dedicated health care team that works with you, your family and friends to develop and implement your plan of care. The team is led by a medical doctor or physiatrist who specializes in rehabilitation. The team includes you, and your family and friends, nurses, therapists, case managers and others who can help you. We work with you on improving your skill, adapting to changes in your life and on discharging you to a safe setting. We will use a range of strategies, techniques and equipment to help you reach your goals. Our excellent patient-to-therapist ratio gives our staff the capability to meet each individual's needs with a customized treatment plan.
